The Launching of the Malaysian Food and Cultural Week at the Garden Hotel, Guangzhou from 10-16 September 2015
The Tourism Section, Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou organized a Malaysian Food and Cultural Week at the Garden Hotel, Guangzhou from 10-16 September 2015. The event was officiated by Mr. Muzambli Markam, the Consul General at a simple ceremony on 10 September 2015 and included a 15-minute cultural performance by the Johor Heritage Foundation Performing Arts Group and a teh tarik demonstration by Chef Sharizan bin Mohd Rali Kannan, a Malaysian based in Shanghai.
Present at the event were numerous local media representatives and staff from the Consulate General. The Malaysian Food and Cultural week was held in conjunction with the Malaysia National Day.
The objective of the event was to introduce and showcase the various Malaysian cuisines such as beef rendang, nasi lemak, roti canai, roti jala, karipap, Malaysian white coffee and teh tarik to the locals.
