With the support from the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou, the Sheraton Hotel Changsha in Hunan Province organized a Malaysian Food Festival from 19-27 August 2017. The event was jointly officiated by Mr. A. Nagandran, the Vice Consul of Malaysia and Mr. Wilson Lum, General Manager of Sheraton Hotel Changsha in a simple ceremony on 19 August 2017.
2. Present at the event were several local media representatives, Malaysians residing in Changsha and selected invited guest. The Malaysian Food Festival was held in conjunction with the 60th Merdeka Day Celebration which falls on 31 August 2017 and the Malaysia Day on 16 September 2017, respectively.
3. The objective of the event was to introduce and showcase the various Malaysian cuisines such as beef rendang, nasi lemak, roti canai, laksa, karipap, durian pizza, Malaysian white coffee and teh tarik etc. to the locals.
