On 3 June 2016, the Sheraton Hotel in Zhuhai with the support of the Tourism Section, Consulate General Malaysia in Guangzhou organized a two-week Malaysian Food Festival from 3-17 June 2016. The event was jointly officiated by Mr. Muzambli Markam, the Consul General, Mr. Sunny Heng, Managing Director of Sheraton Hotel Zhuhai at an evening gala on 3 June 2016. Also present was Ms. Helen He, General Manager of Huafa International.
2. During the event, the audience was entertained by a cultural troupe from Malaysia and also a group of Chinese student dancers from Zhuhai University. In addition, two guests Chef was invited to perform and showcase their “teh tarik” skills. Over 200 hundreds attendees, local media representatives and other officials from the Consulate General were present.
3. The objective of the event was to introduce and showcase the various Malaysian cuisines such as curry laksa, satay, ais kacang, beef rendang, nasi lemak, roti canai, karipap, durian crepe, Malaysian white coffee and teh tarik etc. to the locals.
