Ms. Aireen Omar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Airasia, the region’s leading low cost carrier made a courtesy call on Mr. Muzambli Markam, the Malaysian Consul General at the latter’s office on 28 February 2017.
2. During the meeting, Ms. Aireen briefed Mr. Muzambli on the airlines plans to further expand its routes in China via Airasia X. Airasia is currently the biggest foreign airline plying numerous routes to and from China to various destinations in Southeast Asia. Guangzhou is the most important city as Airasia has more than 6 daily flights from Guangzhou to Malaysia.
3. On his part, Mr. Muzambli expressed the Consulate General’s support for Airasia’s planned expansion in China. At the same time, he expressed his appreciation to Airasia for the continuous support rendered by the airlines in cooperating with the Consulate General to promote Malaysia from time to time, especially activities undertaken by the Tourism Section.
