WEBSITE REPORT ON NATIONAL DAY RECEPTION 2024
On 30 August 2024 (Friday), the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou held a reception to celebrate the 67th Anniversary of the National Day of Malaysia and the
50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Malaysia-China Diplomatic Relations at Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou. The event was attended by over 400 guests comprising of Chinese Government officials from Guangdong, and Hainan; the diplomatic community; Malaysian and Chinese business community; the Malaysian Student Association of Guangzhou and Fujian and the Malaysian community working and living in various cities in the Guangdong Province.
The Guest of Honour for the event was Madam Liu Yahong, Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress, who delivered remarks on behalf of the Guangdong Government. Other senior Government officials in attendance were Mr. Zhang Rui, Vice Mayor of Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government; Madam Qian Hongjie, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government; Mr. Lin Jinxiong, Vice Chairman of the Rural Agriculture Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress; and Mr. Chen Jiaquan, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress.
