The Xi’an Chapter of the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China (MAYCHAM China) successfully hosted its establishment ceremony on Saturday, 13 October 2018 at the Sheraton North City Hotel in Xi’an, which was attended by 180 local and foreign guests. The Chapter is the latest (4th) chapter of MAYCHAM China (which is registered in Beijing) in the Chinese mainland after Guangzhou, Shanghai and Kunming.
TYT Dato’ Zainuddin Yahya, Ambassador of Malaysia to the People’s Republic of China, who is also the Patron of MAYCHAM China was the Chief Guest of the event. Consul General and Mr. Will Fung Jui Seng, Chairman of MAYCHAM China were amongst the invited guests from the Malaysian side.
While the principal Chinese guests of the event were Madam Yao Hongjuan, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government, Mr. Wang Yong, Member of the Party Group of Xi’an Municipal Government, Mr Wang Huanchang, Chairman of Xi’an Federation of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Tang Yugang, Deputy Director-General of Shaanxi Provincial Commerce Department and Mr. Long Xiaohua, Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International and Trade (CCPIT) Xi’an Branch.
The MAYCHAM China Xi’an Chapter is currently led by its President, Mr. Loh Kai Yong. The pioneer batch of executive committee members, which was elected at its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 1 July 2018. The main highlight of the event was the unveiling of the logo of MAYCHAM China Xi’an Chapter and presentation of appointment plaques by the invited guests to all members of the executive committee.
