THE VISIT TO WEST TANG MARKET MUSEUM, 25 SEPTEMBER 2018

Consul General led all members of the Home-based Staff and PERWAKILAN Xi’an, visited the West Tang Market Museum on 25 September 2018.  Ms. Emma Wei, Deputy Director of Membership Centre of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce and her assistant Mr. Alvis Lai, accompanied the Consul General for the tour to the said museum.

 

The Tang West Market Museum is the first private on-the-site museum in China featuring the culture of the world famous Silk Road and it is located on the original site of the West Market from the Tang Dynasty (618-907).  The exhibits on display reflect a long history ranging from the Shang Dynasty (16th-11th century BC) to the Qing Dynasty (1636-1911), including bronze wares, colorful porcelains, clay figurines in various appearances, shining gold and silver vessels, exquisite silk products, delicate jade carvings, a rich collection of ancient coins.  At the end of the visit, Consul General presented a token of appreciation for the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce for their hospitality.
