Theme: “Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni”
Havana, 1 September 2025 – The Embassy of Malaysia in Havana hosted a reception to commemorate the 68th National Day of Malaysia, bringing together members of the diplomatic corps, Cuban government officials, representatives of local institutions, and friends of Malaysia. The celebration was held at the Melia Cohiba Hotel, with the participation of distinguished guests including His Excellency Oscar Manuel Silvera Martínez
Minister of Justice Justicia of the Repúblic of Cuba.
This year’s National Day is celebrated under the theme “Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni” (Malaysia MADANI: The People Are Cared For), reflecting the Government of Malaysia’s continued commitment to placing the well-being, dignity, and inclusivity of its people at the heart of national development. As outlined by the Honourable Prime Minister, Malaysia Madani represents a vision of compassionate governance, ethical leadership, and shared progress.
The evening featured remarks by His Excellency Muhammad Radzi Jamaludin, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Cuba, who underlined the long-standing and warm bilateral ties between Malaysia and Cuba. The event also commemorated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, first established in 1975. The Ambassador reaffirmed Malaysia’s dedication to enhancing cooperation with Cuba, including in areas such as healthcare, education, biotechnology, and multilateral diplomacy.
As Malaysia assumes the Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025, the Ambassador also highlighted the country’s ongoing commitment to strengthening regional integration and engaging with partners in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Guests were treated to a showcase of Malaysian culture, traditional delicacies, and hospitality, reflecting the diversity and richness of Malaysia’s heritage.
