Malaysia’s shared updates on Malaysia’s initiative as ASEAN Chair in 2025 during luncheon with ACHC hosted by Indonesia

Malaysia participated in the ASEAN Committee in Havana (ACHC) luncheon hosted by Indonesia on 8 January 2026, marking the conclusion of Indonesia’s tenure as ACHC Chair and the handover of the Chairmanship to Laos. The event was also held in conjunction with the farewell of H.E. Mr. Cheak Thireak, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia, upon the completion of his tour of duty in Havana.

At the luncheon, H.E. Ambassador Muhammad Radzi Jamaludin shared updates on ASEAN-related initiatives and developments under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, reaffirming Malaysia’s commitment to ASEAN unity, continuity, and centrality in fostering regional cooperation and engagement in Havana.

The participation underscored Malaysia’s continued emphasis on strengthening ASEAN cohesion and visibility in Havana, in line with Malaysia’s broader commitment to promoting ASEAN centrality and constructive engagement with partners beyond the region.
