In March 2012, the Embassy play hosts to the Choir Group from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seafield, Selangor. The talented group was on an exchange programme with the Heidelberg Music School before coming to Berlin for another programme with The Platanus School, Berlin – a private bilingual school which uses German and English as their medium of teaching.
The Malaysian choir group performed various genres of Malaysian songs from patriotic, traditional to pop music and finally a German song Auf einem Baum ein Kuckuck saß (A cuckoo was sitting on a tree) for the students of Platanus School. Besides exchanging musical interest between both school students, the Platanaus School students organized an ice breaking cum interactive session for the Malaysian Choir Group. At the end of the event, the choir groups were taken for a historical tour at the famous Unter De Linden by the Platanus School students.
