160920: The High Commissioner hosted the 57th Malaysia Day at the Rumah Malaysia in Suva. It was attended by The Hon. President Jioji Konrote, The Hon. Prime Minister Josaia Bainimarama, The Hon. Speaker Ratu Epeli, Minister of Industry and Trade Mrs. Premila Kumar and Minister of Tourism Mr. Faiyaz Koya, as well as the diplomatic corp. In his speech, the High Commissioner looks forward to upscalling Malaysia's support towards the development of Fiji and commended the Fijian Government swift action in curbing the spread of the pandemic in Fiji. Meanwhile, Mr. Jiko Rasoqosoqo, the Chief of Protocol of the Fijian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in his speech thanked Malaysia for its support and looks forward for the strengthening of bilateral relations of the two countries. Malaysians who reside in Fiji were also invited as well as Friends of Malaysia, regional bilateral and multilateral development partners. They were served with dellicious Malaysian traditional dishes and kuih muih.
