His Excellency Kim Jin Hyung, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, visited the High Commission of Malaysia in Fiji and paid tribute to the late Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, former Prime Minister of Malaysia on Wednesday, April 23. The late Badawi, who passed away at the age of 85, served as Malaysia’s Prime Minister from 2003 to 2009 and is remembered as a leader who promoted political freedom and reforms in Malaysia. In particular, Badawi visited Korea in 2004 for a summit with former President Roh Moo-hyun and was appointed an honorary citizen of Seoul, contributing to the strengthening of relations between Malaysia and Korea. The visit serves as an opportunity to reaffirm the deep friendship between Korea and Malaysia, and it will further contribute to strengthening the spirit of continued cooperation and mutual respect between the two countries.
