ASIAN LADIES LUNCHEON
AT RUMAH MALAYSIA, SUVA, FIJI

The ASIAN ladies gathering brings together ladies from various Asian countries including Malaysia, the Philippines, China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, and Mongolia. Each month, members showcase their culture and culinary traditions.
This month gathering held on Wednesday, 13 March 2013, was hosted by Puan Evi Alena, the wife of the Malaysian Acting High Commissioner, Encik Nor’ Azam Mohd Idrus, at the Rumah Malaysia, 117 Princess Road, Tamavua, Suva. A total of 40 members attended the event and many of them turned up dressed in Cheongsam or red colour dress in conjunction with the event theme “Chinese New Year in Malaysia”.
At the event, ladies had the opportunity to learn to make different types of flowers from crepes and tissue papers. The highlight of the event was a special performance of “Peacock Dance” from the Yunnan province by Talei Lovell the daughter of Puan Juana Lovell from Malaysia.
