August 2020: The High Commission with the support of Wisma Putra's Covid-19 Task Force, assisted a number of Malaysians who were stranded in Fiji, Nauru and Kiribati. They have been stranded in these countries due to border closure in early March as well as shortage of flights. Fiji is also the transit point for passengers going to the other Pacific island countries; and since Fiji closed its border, these travelers were also affected and stranded in Fiji. All of the stranded Malaysians have safely returned home. They expressed appreciation of seeing the High Commission's staff and this bring comfort to them.
