The High Commission of Malaysia has presented the Tropical Cyclone Tomas donation cheque to the Fiji Interim Government (FIG)’s Prime Minister, H.E. Voreqe (Frank) Bainimarama at his office on Tuesday, 11 May 2010. The Acting of High Commissioner of Malaysia, Mr. Nor'Azam Mohd Idrus presented the cheque with the accompanied by two other High Commission officers (Mr. Mohd Nasir Othman, Third Secretary and Mr. Khairul Kamal Abdul Rahman, Personal Assistant (PA) to the High Commissioner).
Without further ado and by mentioning in sympathising with the victims and all those affected during the March Tropical Cyclone Tomas and on behalf of the Government and People of Malaysia, the Acting of High Commissioner of Malaysia donated a total of US$50,000.00 towards the Prime Minster’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund of the Republic of the Fiji Islands. Receiving the cheque, Prime Minister Bainimarama was grateful for the donation as it shows the testimony of good relationship shared by the two countries.
