CONSULAR AND IMMIGRATION GUIDELINES
AT THE HIGH COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA, SUVA
REPUBLIC OF THE FIJI ISLANDS

 

 

1.                  APPLICATION FOR A NEW MALAYSIAN PASSPORT


 
Application has to be made in person at:

 

High Commission of Malaysia, Suva, Republic of Fiji Islands

Documents to be submitted:-

 

i.              1 copy of Passport Application Form (IM.42-Pin.1/97) – can be downloaded at www.imi.gov.my or be collected at the High Commission’s office.

ii.            Malaysian International Passport (original and 2 photocopies of the main page and residence permit)

iii.          Birth Certificate (original and 2 photocopies)

iv.          Identity Card (original and 2 photocopies

v.            3 coloured passport photos size  (3.5 cm x 5.0 cm)

vi.          Fee: RM300.00 for 32 pages or RM600.00 for 64 pages. Validity of passport 5 years ( Cash / Bank Draft payable to Malaysian High Commission)

 

 

Processing period – up to three (3) month provided the supporting documents submitted are complete

 

 

2.                  RENEWAL OF MALAYSIAN PASSPORT

 

THE MALAYSIAN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT CANNOT BE RENEWED ANYMORE. PLEASE REFER TO THE REQUIREMENTS FOR NEW PASSPORT APPLICATION ABOVE.

 

 

3.                  APPLICATION FOR VISA TO MALAYSIA

 

Application has to be made in person at:

Documents to be submitted:-

 

i.              2 copies of Visa Application Form (IM.47-Pin.1/97)- can be downloaded at www.imi.gov.my

ii.            2 recent coloured passport size photo (3.5 cm x 5.0 cm)

iii.          Confirmed return air ticket

iv.          Passport/Travel Document with an expiry date not less than 6 months on the date of visit. Passport which less than 6 months validity will not be processed.

v.            Financial proof to support oneself

vi.          Fee: (subject to the applicant’s nationality) – refer to officer/staff

 

 

4.                  VISA APPLICATION FOR INTERNSHIP/STUDY/WORKING

 

For internship/study/working, applicants need to approach their Malaysian sponsor/university/company to apply for the entry permit with the Immigration Department in Malaysia. The High Commission will then issue a visa with reference once the approval is granted.

6.                  REGISTRATION OF BIRTH

 

Application has to be made in person at:

Please note that it is necessary for the child to be present.          

 

Documents to be submitted:-

 

    • 2 copies of Registration Form D, JPN.WN02( original)
    • 3 recent coloured photographs of the child, size 3.5.x 5.0 cm
    • Birth certificate of child with English translation (original and 2 photocopies)
    • Passport of parents (original and 2 photocopies)
    • Identity card of parents (original and 2 photocopies)
    • Marriage certificate of parents (original and 2 photocopies)
    • Birth Certificates of parents (original and 2 photocopies)
    • Fee: Form D, JPN WN02 = RM 20.00

 

Fee: Borang W (W.N.23A-PIN.2/81) = RM 10.00

The fee is payable in local currency equivalent to that amount.

 

 

 

7.                  LOSS OF MALAYSIAN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT

 

 

Report of lost passport must be made immediately at:

Documents to be submitted:-

 

i.              Police report with English translation

ii.            Malaysian Birth Certificate (original and 2 photocopies)

iii.          Malaysian Identity Card (original and 2 photocopies)

iv.          Proof of work permit-only applicable if holder of lost passport is working in Fiji (original and  2 photocopies)

v.            Letter from the  employer in English- only applicable if holder of lost passport is working in Fiji (original and 2 photocopies)

vi.          Proof of residence permit in English (original and 2 photocopies)

vii.        4 recent coloured passport size photo (3.5.x 5.0 cm)

viii.      Copy of lost passport (if available)

ix.          Letter from University in English( applicable only if holder of lost passport is a student))

 

 

 

8.                  APPLICATION FOR EMERGENCY CERTIFICATE

 

 

Application has to be made in person at:

9.                  APPLICATION TO RENOUNCE MALAYSIAN CITIZENSHIP

 

Application has to be made in person at:

i.              2 copies of Application Form of Borang K JPN (Perkara 23-Kaedah 36)

ii.            Malaysian Passport (original and 2 photocopies)

iii.          Malaysian Identity Card (original and 2 photocopies)

iv.          Malaysian Birth Certificate (original and 2 photocopies)

v.            Proof of Malaysian Citizenship (if any)

vi.          3 Coloured Photographs (passport size)

vii.        Letter of Naturalisation with English translation by a certified translator (original and 2 photocopies)

viii.      Fee: RM 10.00. It is payable in local currency equivalent to that amount

 

 

 

10.             CERTIFICATION OF MALAYSIAN DOCUMENTS

 

Application can either be made in person or by mail at:

11.             ATTESTATION OF DOCUMENTS

12.             AUTHENTICATION OF DOCUMENTS

 

 

Application can either be made in person or by mail at :

 

High Commission of Malaysia in Suva, Fiji

 

Applicant must provide self-addressed stamped envelope.

i.              Document (original and photocopy)

ii.            Fee: RM 20.00. It is payable in local currency equivalent to that amount
