The Inaugural Meeting of the Pacific Islands Development Forum (PIDF) was held in Nadi, Fiji from 5-7 August 2013 with the theme "Leadership, Innovation and Partnership for Green/Blue Economies". The Meeting was represented by leaders of Government (as members), Industry and Non-Governmental Organizations from all 23 islands of the Pacific, all observers from Suva-based Diplomatic Missions (including Malaysia-represented by the Acting High Commissioner, Mr. Nor'Azam Mohd Idrus), Regional and International Organizations accredited to the Pacific, United Nations Agencies and Members of the Council of Regional Organizations in the Pacific (CROP).
The Objectives for the Inaugural PIDF meeting were to: bring together all stakeholders on an equal level; establish a unique and sustainable high-level multi-stakeholder participatory forum and network; help define the future of sustainable development through the green economy; find answers to the most important development challenges of today and tomorrow through the green economy; and make regional recommendations and set the green economy agendas.
