IN sympathizing with the victims and all those affected during the January flood the people of Malaysia through their Acting High Commissioner Abdul Samad Ismail donated a total of US$100,000 towards the Prime Minister’s Flood and Rehabilitation Fund this afternoon.

IN sympathizing with the victims and all those affected during the January flood the people of Malaysia through their Acting High Commissioner Abdul Samad Ismail donated a total of US$100,000 towards the Prime Minister’s Flood and Rehabilitation Fund this afternoon.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama, the Minister for Defence, Ratu Epeli Ganilau who is also responsible for Fiji’s National Disaster Management Office (DISMAC) was grateful for the gift as it shows the testimony of relationship shared by the two countries.
“It’s my great pleasure to accept the donation given by your Government,” Ratu Ganilau said.
“It’s a testimony of our close friendship which has been forged for many years for the long association between the two countries.
“This is indeed a very timely contribution and will be well used towards Prime Ministers rehabilitation Fund and I wish to acknowledge our very appreciation for the donation,” he added.
