02082022: Meeting with Mr. Pita Tagicakirewa the Permanent Secretary of Itaukei Ministry to update the cultural diplomacy through food activity which is bearing fruits through the trainers who have started selling Malaysian kueh in the village markets. Mr. Pita is familiar with Malaysian food as he was posted in Kuala Lumpur; we hope this will continue to spread among the villagers so as to diversify the food coming from cassava, Dalo etc. This will empower the villagers to turn into entrepreneurs as well as enhance food security through utilising the fertile lands.
The next phase of training will include heavy dishes such as nasi lemak, pulut lemang, dendeng etc. A team from Malaysia is also coming to train record keeping digitization/archiving techniques to the Fijian side towards the end of the year.
