PRESS STATEMENT: MALAYSIA'S POSITION ON DEVELOPMENTS CONCERNING THE MH17 TRAGEDY

 

 

  1. On 5 June 2018, the Minister of Transport, YB Loke Siew Fook received a joint courtesy call by Her Excellency Karin Mossenlechner, Ambassador of The Netherlands to Malaysia and His Excellency Andrew Goledzinowski, High Commissioner of Australia.

 

 

  • The meeting discussed various issues of mutual interest including bilateral transportation issues, MH370, as well as the latest developments concerning MH17. On the MH17 tragedy, YB Minister Loke commended the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on the progress of its investigation and reaffirmed Malaysia`s position as per Government`s statement issued on 25th May 2018. He also reiterated that Malaysia is carefully and thoroughly studying the latest findings of the JIT criminal investigation.

 

  1.   He also stressed on Malaysia’s continued commitment to the JIT’s collective effort for justice. Malaysia is unwavering in its resolve to hold perpetrators of this heinous crime accountable for their actions. Malaysia and the other JIT members would not rest until they have secured justice for the innocent victims of flight MH17, and provide closure for the victims’ loved ones.
