H.E. High Commissioner Nor’ Azam Mohd Idrus (“TYT”) attended the Graduation ceremony of participants from the Makoi Women’s Vocational Training Centre that graduated from sewing and culinary courses on 10 January 2024 as one of the guests of honor. Other guests of honor included H.E. Marie Damour, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Fiji, Kiribati, Tonga, Nauru and Tuvalu; and Mr Gareth McGrath of the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC). TYT was able to further network with those in attendance during that ceremony. As part of the formalities, TYT also handed out graduation certificates to some of those participants. While refreshments were served after the ceremony, discussions emphasized the importance of women empowerment and the promotion of education that are crucial in the promotion of stability and prosperity.
