At the official opening ceremony of the 3rd Regional Aviation Ministers Meeting, held at Pacific Islands Forum on 20 March 2025, H.E. High Commissioner Nor' Azam Mohd Idrus sought support from PIF members for Malaysia’s candidature to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council under Part III for the 2025-2028 term. Among those TYT engaged with was Dr. Raijeli Taga, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also present were the Suva-based diplomatic corps and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Viliame Gavoka.
