On 28 April 2026, H.E. Nor’ Azam Mohd Idrus, High Commissioner of Malaysia (“TYT”), attended the public screening of “Stories from the Blue Frontier”, an impactful documentary series by German Embassy in Fiji under its Climate Talks initiative. The film brings to life the frontline realities of climate change. Low-lying communities face rising seas. Access to safe and clean water remains a challenge. Forests are more than land. They are home, heritage, and harvest. That simple yet powerful alliteration captures identity, memory, and meaning in just a few words. It reflects how language can shape understanding and deepen connection to issues that matter. Those are not distant concerns. They are urgent, lived experiences shaping the future of the Pacific. In his engagements, TYT emphasized Malaysia’s appreciation for initiatives that place communities at the centre of the climate conversation. He noted that the ability to communicate ideas clearly and meaningfully, including through literary devices such as alliteration, is strengthened through a culture of reading and learning. This resonates with #KOTABACA2026, Malaysia’s national programme to elevate literacy as a social norm and a way of life, enabling individuals to better interpret, express, and act on complex challenges.
