130820: The High Commissioner visited the Agriculture Research and Fisheries Centre in Naduruloulou. The staff of the center has gone to Malaysia for training and it is great to catch up with them for future cooperation. The durian trees in the center are 30 years old and bore only one durian fruit. Chef Elda Lembang who has some MARDI training advised them not to trim the branches and to plant them closer to each other in the future. The Centre rears tilapia and prawns where the frys are then distributed for free to local fish breeders. One female staff completed a course in Malaysia in 2018 (in blue jersey in photo).
