Cda a.i received Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi the Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS) of Ghana, and delegates at the High Commission of Malaysia office on 6 June 2024. The meeting discussed the scope of the NSS and how it could assist and collaborate with the Malaysia National Service program.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) was established in 1973 by the Government of Ghana under the Ministry of Education. It operates through a National Secretariat in Accra and regional offices across the country, deploying skilled manpower from tertiary institutions to support development efforts in Ghana.
Mr. Osei explained that Ghanaians are required to complete a year of National Service by working with various ministries and agencies in Ghana. The NSS is interested in partnering with Malaysian agencies to facilitate similar opportunities for Ghanaian youth.
CDA a.i informed that the reimplementation of the Malaysia National Service Training Programme (NS3.0), which will be held over a 45-day session, is expected to be conducted next year under the Ministry of Defense.
