Courtesy Call on the Inspector General of Police

On 4 July 2017, Mr. Farhan Areffin called on Mr. David Asante-Appeatu, Ghana's Inspector General of Police to discuss potential areas of collaboration particularly on policing as well as counter-terrorism cooperation between the two countries.

 

During the call, Mr. David Asante shared his thought on the need for all countries to work together in the fight against terrorism. He said that it is important for all parties to work closely by exhanging and sharing of information with regards to counter-terrorism activities.

 

Apart from the discussion on counter-terrorism, Mr. Farhan also informed that the Malaysian Government is committed in giving assistance to the Ghana Police Service by sponsoring its personnel to undergo various trainings in Malaysia through the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP). To date, more than 15 personnel from Ghana Police Service have benefited from the programme.
