On 29 January 2026, the High Commission of Malaysia led a delegation from MIDA on a courtesy call to Honourable Mr. Augustus Goosie Tanoh, Presidential Advisor for the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development.
We were honoured to engage with key members of the Secretariat, including Mr. Kyeretwie Opoku, Coordinator of the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat, and Dr. Ishmael Nii Amanor Dodoo, Director and Head of Innovative Finance, Partnerships, and Markets, along with their dedicated team members.
The meeting was also joined by representatives from the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), further strengthening the multi-stakeholder dialogue on investment and industrial growth.
The discussions explored strategic areas of collaboration under Ghana’s bold 24-hour economy vision, focusing on:
- Value-added transformation and agricultural mechanization
- Inbound investment and export expansion
- Development of the Kumasi Machinery and Technology Park
- Innovation and the Tamale Cargo Hub to export fresh produce to Europe
- Port operations and technology exchange
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. highlighted Malaysia’s role as Ghana’s gateway to the ASEAN market of 650 million, while Hon. Goosie Tanoh emphasised Ghana’s strategic access to ECOWAS and the AfCFTA, representing a market of over 1.4 billion people.
The dialogue also underscored the importance of youth employment through manufacturing and industrialisation, alongside a planned visit to Malaysia’s Meranti Technology Park and key port facilities.
This high-level engagement reflects our shared commitment to drive sustainable growth, enhance trade connectivity, and create meaningful opportunities for both nations.
