On 29 March 2017, H.E Cheong Loon Lai, High Commission of Malaysia called on H.E President Nana Akufo-Addo to bid farewell after serving in the republic for almost 3 years.
During the farewell call, H.E Cheong expressed his appreciation to the government and people of Ghana for their hospitality during his tenure as the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Ghana.
H.E President Nana Addo also thanked H.E Cheong for the gesture of his visit and also wished him well. On the current bilateral relations between Ghana and Malaysia, President Nana Addo was glad that the ties of friendship and cooperation had been maintained over the years. He conveyed the determination of his administration to tap into the expertise of the Malaysia, especially in the field in of oil palm production and expressed his confidence that Ghana would be able to replicate the successes of Malaysia, especially in the area of agribusiness.
H.E Cheong Loon Lai departed Ghana on 5 April 2017 to continue his diplomatic career in Budapest, Hungary as the new Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to Hungary.
The High Commission of Malaysia in Ghana would like to wish H.E Cheong Loon Lai all success in his future endeavour.
