On 29 January 2026, the High Commission of Malaysia and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) were joined by the Malaysian company Techaira for a targeted briefing session led by Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA).
The session delivered valuable insights into the specific incentives, regulatory frameworks, and tax exemptions available within Ghana’s Free Zones, enabling:
-MIDA to better tailor and align its investment promotion programs with Ghana’s industrial priorities.
-Techaira to clearly assess the operational advantages and commercial viability of establishing a presence in the Free Zone.
This engagement underscores the practical role of institutional collaboration in de-risking investment and facilitating informed market entry for Malaysian businesses. It also reflects Ghana’s proactive approach to attracting targeted, value-adding investments through its special economic zones.
We thank GFZA for the detailed and productive dialogue, which strengthens the bridge between Ghana’s investment landscape and Malaysia’s dynamic private sector.
