H.E. Kamsiah Kamaruddin attended the 3rd ASEAN-Chile Development Partnership Committee (AC-DPC) Meeting on 21 Feb 2022. The Meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary General ASEAN Economic Community and H.E. Gustavo Ayares, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to ASEAN.
The Meeting, among others, reviewed the implementation of the ASEAN-Chile Practical Cooperation Areas (PCA) 2021-2025 and explored ways to implement the action lines outlined in the PCA.
The Meeting also noted that the ASEAN Secretariat have identified a number of proposals for cooperation in the following areas including trade and investment, minerals cooperation, sustainable and renewable energy, private sector engagement, sustainable salmon sourcing and fish meal, and circular economy. The ASEAN Secretariat will be preparing project proposals in these areas for further consultation with Chile and ASEAN Sectoral bodies.
Chile was conferred the status of Development Partner of ASEAN in June 2019.
