ASEAN Youth Human Rights and Peace Camp, 26 Feb 2022

H.E. Kamsiah Kamaruddin, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN delivered opening remarks for the ASEAN Youth Human Rights and Peace Camp on 26 February 2022. 

The virtual 2-day event aimed to address prevalent dilemmas concerning peace and humanity. It gathered around 100 advocates and activists aged 15-30 from ASEAN countries who deliberated real-life examples aligned to on human rights violations and violence through various activities such as a debate, discourse, documentary, and webinar. 

In her opening remarks, H.E. Kamsiah gave a brief overview of ASEAN's efforts on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms. She also encouraged the youths to join ASEAN's endeavour towards the full realisation of human rights within ASEAN and at the same time, build network during the camp.
