On 22 April 2025, YAB Dato’ Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and Minister of Rural and Regional Development received a courtesy call from H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN at the sidelines of the flag-off event of the ASEAN Unity Drive held at the Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta. Among issues raised during the call include among others, intra-ASEAN trade and investment as well as connectivity among ASEAN Member States, ASEAN-GCC-China Summit and the US tariff.
