The Interface Meeting between the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) and the United Nations Delegation was held on 19 April 2017 at the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) in Jakarta. The Meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Elizabeth P. Buensuceso, Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Philippines to ASEAN and Mr. Miroslav Jen?a, Assistant Secretary-General for the UN Department of Political Affairs (UN DPA).
The participation of all ASEAN Member Countries and various UN Agencies to this meeting symbolizes the importance of the cooperation between ASEAN and the UN and also reflects the keenness of all parties to ensure the success of this partnership. The interface between the CPR and the UN delegations was very constructive as both sides discussed the way forward in enhancing cooperation between ASEAN and UN. The meeting also clearly demonstrates the commitment that both sides have in ensuring the success of the implementation of the ASEAN-UN POA 2016-2020.
