On strengthening coordinated policy responses to the global food crisis, at the ongoing 52nd Session of the Committee on Food Security of the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) on Monday, Mr Abdul Rahman delivered a statement expressing the need for a common standard for measuring financing for food security and nutrition.
He also shared Malaysian policies and programmes to increase food security and nutrition, including the Community Farming initiative, the Young Agropreneur Programme, and the National Nutrition Policy Malaysia 2021-2030.
He further expressed Malaysia’s deep concern with the impact of conflict on food security and nutrition and the right to food in many regions, notably in Gaza and the Sudan. Malaysia condemns clear violations of international law, including international humanitarian and human rights law, and the barbaric use, or threat of use, of starvation on a civilian population as weapons of war.
