16 February 2026 - H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, attended the 328th ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Meeting, chaired by H.E. Mylene J. Garcia-Albano, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Japan. The Meeting discussed current developments in Japan and ASEAN, as well as preparations for upcoming ACT-related activities and events.
The Meeting welcomed Mr. Takio Yamada, Ambassador for the Promotion of the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC), who briefed members on carbon neutrality initiatives and potential collaboration on transition pathways, including joint projects in the ASEAN region.
The ACT reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening ASEAN–Japan relations and pursuing joint efforts that contribute to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
