9 March 2024 – Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo participated for the first time in the 7th Tokyo Tower Arts Festival at the Main Observation Deck of the Japan’s iconic building – Tokyo Tower. The event was organised by the Cultural Sending Promotion Committee (CSPC) – a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO).
During the festival, the Embassy showcased a variety of traditional musical instruments such as Sape, Kompang, various types of Gendang, and Gambus. The Embassy also featured a Japanese cultural group called “Mekar Budaya” led by Mr. Takuji Arai, who played Sape and performed an energetic dance performance called Tarian Piring. This is one of the Embassy’s initiatives to promote cultural diplomacy in Japan.
