12 October 2024 – The annual ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Bowling Tournament was hosted by the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam at the Tokyo Port Bowl. The tournament brought together representatives from all ASEAN embassies in Japan, with the goal of fostering stronger relationships among the ASEAN diplomatic community. The event was also graced by the presence of H.E. Kunihiko Hirabayashi, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-Japan Center (AJC).
For the second year in a row, the Embassy of Malaysia claimed the title of Overall Team Champion. H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, won the Team Leader Category. In addition, Mr. Azim Zamri secured the first runner-up position in the Individual (Men) category, while Ms. Safurah Mohd Tawil earned the first runner-up spot in the Women's category.
Beyond the friendly competition, the tournament helped to strengthen the bonds among ASEAN embassies in Japan, fostering unity and deeper cooperation. The event concluded with an awards ceremony and a networking session, further solidifying the collaborative ties between ASEAN and Japan.
