15 November 2025 – The Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Japan hosted the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Family Day 2025 at Kasai Rinkai Park. The event saw the participation of all 11 ASEAN embassies in Japan and was organised to strengthen camaraderie, foster closer ties among ASEAN diplomats and their families, and promote the spirit of unity within the ASEAN community. This year also marked the Embassy of the Republic of Timor-Leste’s first formal appearance in the ACT, following its accession to the regional bloc on 26 October 2025. The event was further honoured by the attendance of H.E. Kunihiko Hirabayashi, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-Japan Center (AJC).

The day featured a variety of friendly games and activities designed to encourage teamwork and bonding, including children’s games, as well as the opportunity to enjoy diverse cuisines prepared by the participating ASEAN missions. The Embassy of Malaysia emerged as the champion of the “Tug of War” competition, demonstrating strong team spirit, energy, and cooperation.

The Embassy’s participation in the event signifies Malaysia’s continued commitment, as the ASEAN Chair this year, to fostering unity, inclusivity, and active engagement within the ASEAN community in Japan. It also reflects Malaysia’s dedication to strengthening people-to-people ties, enhancing cooperation among ASEAN missions, and promoting a cohesive regional spirit through meaningful interactions and shared experiences.
