ASIA PACIFIC FESTIVAL AND CHARITY BAAZAR 2012

PERWAKILAN Tokyo has participated in the annual Asia Pacific Festival and Charity Bazaar 2012 on 18 April 2012 at ANA InterContinental Hotel Tokyo. The event was organized by the Asia Pacific Ladies Friendship Society (ALFS), an organization comprises of the spouses of the Ambassadors and Diplomats from Asia Pacific countries based in Tokyo. The aim of the bazaar is to promote mutual friendship among member countries through goodwill and charitable activities while raising funds as well as providing necessary assistance towards the betterment of education and welfare of women and children from member countries.
The event was officiated by Her Imperial Highness Princess Hitachi. A total of twenty three countries from the Asia Pacific region participated in the event this year. Malaysia has organised two separate booths, namely a “Handicraft” booth selling various Malaysian handicrafts such as batik sarong, scarves, songket frames, vases and other souvenirs and “Malaysian Foods” booth that sold Malaysian dishes namely nasi lemak, nasi tomato, curry puffs as well as some Malaysian food products.
TYT Datuk Shaharuddin Md Som, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan and wife Datin Norasikin Hashim greeted Her Imperial Highness Princess Hitachi at the Malaysian booth and introduced Her Imperial Highness to the various products as well as dishes offered by our booths. Her Imperial Highness Princess Hitachi was very pleased with the various products and handicrafts from the Malaysian booth and Her Imperial Highness even bought a Malaysian Batik Sarong.
