16 March 2023 – H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, received a courtesy call by H.E. Mr. Hassan Sobir, Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to Japan.
During the call, both Ambassadors discussed the state of bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual interests. Malaysia and Maldives have always enjoyed excellent bilateral relations that have strengthened for over 55 years through ties of Islamic religion and shared cultural values.
H.E. Mr. Sobir, who is also a Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) holder since 2007, commended the MM2H programme that allows non-Malaysians to live in Malaysia for an extended period of time.
