On Friday, 29 January 2020, the Government of Malaysia represented by HE Ambassador Sarimah Akbar handed over packages of 3-ply face masks amounting to 70,000 pieces to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.
The handing over ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Dili. HE Mr. Juliao da Silva, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation was present on behalf of the Timorese Government to receive the items.
The contribution is part of Malaysia’s humanitarian aid initiative, to assist Timor-Leste in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Malaysia stands in solidarity with the Government of Timor-Leste in supporting the efforts to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic.
