27 & 28 September 2025 – The Embassy of Malaysia in Japan proudly participated in the Global Festa Japan 2025, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Japan NGO Center for International Cooperation (JANIC), held at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building Triangle Plaza. Held under the theme “Change the World with Your Step – Plus One for International Cooperation,” the event attracted over 60,000 visitors and featured 180 exhibitors, promoting global understanding and active participation in international cooperation for a better future.
This year, the Embassy’s participation was larger than in previous years, showcasing Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage and diversity through exhibits of brassware, Labu Sayong and Sarawak pottery, and Gamelan instruments, which captivated Japanese visitors. The interactive Batik colouring activity also received overwhelming response, strengthening cultural exchange and engagement between Malaysia and Japan. In addition, the Embassy promoted Malaysia as a regional education hub, highlighted the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (TMM 2026), and shared information on Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, enhancing awareness of the nation’s role and leadership in the region.
Overall, the Embassy’s participation successfully showcased Malaysia as a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-looking nation, further strengthening people-to-people ties and fostering mutual understanding between Malaysia and Japan.
