Luncheon for Malaysian Deaflympics Contingent and Mayor of Miyoshi Town

19 November 2025 – The Embassy was pleased to host a luncheon in honour of the presence of the Malaysian Deaf Sports Association (MSDeaf), participating in the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics at the Chancery.  The luncheon was distinguished by the presence of Mr. Isao Hayashi, Mayor of Miyoshi Town, who has provided invaluable and generous support in hosting Malaysian contingent for their pre-games training camp in Miyoshi Town.

 

The Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics took place from 15 to 26 November 2025.  The Malaysian contingent consists of 57 people, comprising 25 athletes and accompanying officials representing 4 sports, namely badminton, bowling, athletics and karate, have successfully secured a total of 2 medals - a gold in bowling and a bronze in badminton. 

 

The Embassy is immensely proud of the contingent’s accomplishments and extends our sincerest congratulations on the contingent’s remarkable success. Overall, the contingent displayed determination and resilience, with the gold medal in bowling being a historic moment for Malaysian deaf sports.
