Minister of Human Resources Working Visit to Japan

The Honourable Datuk Dr. S. Subramaniam, Minister of Human Resources of Malaysia undertook a working visit to Japan on 18 to 22 September 2008. He was accompanied by senior officials from his ministry and the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO).

Topping the agenda of the visit was a discussion with the National Rehabilitation Center for Person with Disabilities (NRCD) of Japan to exchange information and experience on the promotion of the welfare of persons with physical disabilities through rehabilitation services and techniques. The delegation was then taken on a tour of the facilities of NRCD. A tour and briefing at the National Vocational Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities (NVRCD) also formed part of the visit programme. Being advanced in this field, there certainly is a lot that Malaysia can learn from the Japanese experience and know-how.
