On 15 October 2013, Hari Raya Aidil Adha celebration hosted by H.E. Datuk Shaharuddin Md. Som, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan and Datin Norasikin Hashim was held at the Chancery under the Public Diplomacy Programme.
It is estimated that a total of 220 guests comprising of Malaysians working and studying in Japan, Malaysian Muslim friends, officers/staff homebased staff of the Embassy of Malaysia and Malaysian agencies in Tokyo as well as their family members attended the Hari Raya Aidil Adha celebration this year. Eid Al-Adha Prayer and a sermon was held at the Multipurpose Hall at 8.30 am and subsequently followed by a reception at the foyer of Chancery Building. Traditional Malaysian delicacies such as lemang, rendang, soto ayam, nasi himpit, fried mee mamak and peanut sauce were served during this event.
