21 October 2025 – A group of students from Tokyo Jogakkan Junior High School visited the Embassy of Malaysia to learn about Malaysia’s rich and diverse culture. The students were received by Mr. Jeffry Meyer, First Secretary, who delivered a presentation introducing Malaysia as a vibrant multicultural nation.
The visit formed part of the school’s research programme, which allows students to select and visit an embassy of their interest within the Shibuya area. Following the visit, the students will prepare and present a poster on their chosen country during the school festival in November 2025.
During the session, Mr. Jeffry highlighted Malaysia’s unique cultural heritage, traditions, and tourism attractions, with special emphasis on the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign. The students also had the opportunity to learn a few basic Malay phrases and engage in an interactive Q&A session, which deepened their understanding of Malaysia’s people, lifestyle, and values.
The programme successfully enhanced the students’ knowledge and appreciation of Malaysia, while promoting greater cultural understanding between Malaysia and Japan.
