14 January 2025 – A group of 15 high school students from Malaysian Islamic schools visited Tokyo and Fukuoka under the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) programme. The students were divided into two groups and engaged in various cultural and educational activities before presenting their experiences and insights to Mr. Jeffry Meyer, First Secretary (Information & Public Relations) of the Embassy of Malaysia in Japan.
Through this program, the students took part in school exchange activities, visited historical sites, and experienced traditional customs, including crafting keychain straps from Kokura-ori, a traditional Japanese weaving technique.
The visit not only deepened cultural ties between Malaysia and Japan but also inspired the students to become global citizens with a broader perspective. Their reflections and presentations highlighted the valuable lessons learned and the friendships formed throughout the exchange.
