Sakura Science High School Closing Ceremony (Group 3)

30 June 2023 – Mr Anwar Udzir, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo and Mr Imran Yusoff, Counsellor of Human Resource Development attended the Sakura Science High School Closing Ceremony (Group 3) at the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) Head Quarters in Chiyoda, Japan.

 

The Sakura Science High School programme was held in Japan from 25 June to 1 July 2023 with a participation of 94 students from 5 ASEAN countries namely Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam.

 

Malaysia was represented by 25 students from Kedah (SMJK Sin Min), Pulau Pinang (SMK Agama Al-Irshad, SM Sains Tun Syed Shahabuddin, SMK St. Mark), Perak (SJK Ave Maria Convent, SMK Taman Tasik), Selangor (SMK Seafield, SMK Raja Mahadi, Kuala Lumpur (SMK (P) Bandaraya), Putrajaya (Sekilah Sultan Alam Shah), Negeri Sembilan (SM Sains Rembau, SMJK Chen Wa, Kolej Genius Insan), Johor (SM Sains Muar), Pahang (SM Agama Al-Maarif, SMK Abdul Rahman Talib), Terengganu (SM Sains Hulu Terengganu), Kelantan (SMK Kubang Kerian, SMK Kubang Bemban), Sarawak (SMK Chung Hua (CF) Miri), and Sabah (SMK Bandaraya).

 

Since its inception in 2014, the Sakura Science High School programme has been participated by nearly 35,000 high school students. The programme aims to promote science, technology and innovation, and provide an opportunity for exchange of views and sharing of experiences among the participants.
