The 4th Children’s World Peace Summit

1 August 2023 – Mr Anwar Udzir, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo attended the 4th Children’s World Peace Summit on behalf of H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, held at the International Conference Hall of the 1st Congressional Conference Hall of the House of Representatives.

 

During the final round of the competition, 12 young children from different backgrounds were selected and invited to Tokyo to deliver their ideas on how to create a peaceful world. Malaysia was represented by Ms Thoon Jing Wen, a 10 year old student from Penang Chinese Girls Primary School. Ms Thoon Jing Wen who captivated the audience with her remarkable speech entitled “Creating an App called PeaceBeyond” was honoured with “The Peace Award” at the event.

 

The Children’s World Peace Summit is held annually since 2020. It is aimed to promote global harmony and to develop a future world where children can live in peaceful environment. This year, there were over 200 participants from 20 countries that took part in the competition.
