TYT DATUK SHAHARUDDIN MD SOM ADDRESS AT THE JAPAN-MALAYSIA ASSOCIATION (JMA) NEW YEAR GATHERING

TYT Ambassador Datuk Shaharuddin Md. Som attended a New Year Reception hosted by the Japan-Malaysia Association (JMA) held at the International House of Japan on 6 February 2013. Present at the gathering were Mr. Keiji Furuya, Minister of State for Special Missions & National Public Safety Commission Chairman; Tan Sri Masajuro Shiokawa, Honorary Chairman of JMA and Mr. Takeo Hiranuma, Chairman of JMA. The event was well attended by JMA members, Embassies officials and friends of Malaysia.
During his address, TYT Datuk Duta Besar enlightens the gathering on the latest update on trade and investment between Malaysia and Japan. While commending the activities undertaken by the JMA throughout 2012 to further strengthen the bilateral relations, TYT Datuk Duta Besar also updated the audience on the progress of Malaysia’s transformation plan through the Government Transformation Programme (GTP) and the Economic Transformation Program (ETP). TYT Datuk Duta Besar also expressed his fervent hope for JMA to continue playing a leading role in building the bridge of friendship between Malaysia and Japan in the years to come.
